The quick version
- Open the page in Elementor and find the Ribbonfly Marquee category in the widget panel.
- Drag the Ribbonfly Marquee widget into place.
- Edit the three example rows, or add more. Each Text row is a line of text, an optional icon, and an optional link.
Make the text look like yours
On the Style tab, set typography, text colour and background colour. A narrow strip in a bold colour with large type is the classic announcement banner; a plain strip in your body font is a quieter ticker. The padding control, which is responsive, controls the space around the strip.
Icons and links
An icon sits before its text and is hidden from screen readers, because it is decoration. A link makes the whole item, icon and text, one link. Links can open in a new tab, and can be set to nofollow, using Elementor's own link control.
Direction and speed
Left is the default and Right runs the strip the other way. Up and Down turn the widget into a vertical strip with a height you choose. Speed is in pixels per second, from 10 to 400, and it stays the same on a phone and on a desktop.
Watch it in the editor
In Elementor's preview the widget moves, and when you change an item the strip is drawn again and keeps moving. That is the plugin starting its script each time Elementor redraws the widget.
If the text is long
Each Text item stays on one line. For a message with a lot of words, split it into several items, or use Card items, which wrap their text.
