The Testimonials starter
It is a Ribbonfly Marquee block with its settings already chosen for reading: 45 pixels per second, 48 pixels between quotes, and a label for screen readers that says What customers say. Inside are three Quote blocks with placeholder lines. Edit the text, add the name in the quote's citation field, and add as many quotes as you have.
Quotes wrap, text does not
In a marquee a normal paragraph stays on one line, because a line that wraps inside a moving strip is hard to follow. A Quote block is the exception: it is allowed to wrap, within a width of about twenty-four times its font size. That makes a testimonial a compact block of a few lines instead of a very long single one.
Tips for quotes that work in motion
- Keep each quote to a sentence or two. A moving strip is read in glances.
- Put the name after the quote, in the citation, so it travels with it.
- Use real quotes from real customers, and ask before you publish a name or a face.
- Slow the strip down if the quotes are long. The speed is in pixels per second, so a lower number is simply slower everywhere.
Photos and ratings
You can place any block inside the strip, so a small image or a line of star characters can sit next to a quote. For a row where each testimonial is one card with a photo, title and text, the Elementor widget has a Card item for exactly that; see the Elementor testimonial guide.
Reading and pausing
People read testimonials, which is the argument for a Pause button on this particular strip. It stays beside the quotes, and the strip also pauses while someone hovers it or tabs into it.
